First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, is located in beautiful Ozark Arkansas. Founded in 1908, we are a congregation committed to continually sharing the love of God through Christ in our own community and into the world. We treat our neighbors as ourselves and we care for one another as brothers and sisters. We are a loving family, welcoming everyone!
All are welcome to the Lord’s Table for the sake of mission and for the sake of the world as the one family of God. Most congregations do this by celebrating communion every Sunday. That’s why we use a chalice as our logo.
A person makes the choice to follow God’s call rather than the choice being made for them as an infant. Baptism is the basis of membership in the Church and also a mark that every person is called to serve God – the idea of the “priesthood of all believers.”
“For those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like Eagles. They shall walk and not grow weary, they shall run and not grow faint.” Isaiah 40:31
My name is Isaiah Powers. I am the co-minister of First Christian Church here in Ozark, AR. I have been ministering since 2017 and became a full-time minister at this church in 2020. I was raised in this church with a very Christ-centered family, who helped mold me into the person I am today. I am passionate about my faith, and I hold true to the value of unity within the church. To quote one of my favorite hymns, “And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.” I am always eager to learn, and I am excited for new opportunities to teach God’s word. Ever since I was a child, I loved being creative, and God has blessed me with the opportunity to bring my creativity to preaching God’s word. I love to be active in my service with my congregation. In my time as a pastor, I have learned that being a minister is not just a job that ends on Sunday. It is a full-time commitment to serving Jesus Christ and aiding my congregation.

I am Shelly Wilson. I am a lifetime member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Ozark, AR. At age 48, God started talking to me about becoming a minister. It took me three years to finally listen. I have started my schooling to become ordained through the Phillips Theological Seminary of Tulsa, OK. My prayers for my ministry is to lead the lost to our Lord and Savior and to make all feel loved and welcome in His presence and the presence of FCC(DOC), Ozark, AR.
He answered them saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
